Prayers

My mom called this morning to let me know that her doctor contacted her regarding a suspicious "spot" on a recent chest scan. Apparently there is something in one of her lungs and she will need to have a biopsy or pet scan to determine what it is.

At that moment Satan starting trying to creep in . . . trying to convince me that this would ultimately end up bad. But I don't believe that! Satan has no power over me or my family! My prayer today is that God will heal her of whatever may be wrong. I believe that she will be fine. I know that prayer is powerful and that God still works miracles today. Please join me in this prayer for strength, health, and peace in His presence.

Here we go!

Alright, I have avoided starting a blog site for quite a while now . . . using the "grad school" excuse, "demands of a new job" excuse, and the ongoing "who has the time" excuse. But I think that the time has finally come. I will give it a try. No promises! Brad and I actually love keeping up with our friends through their blogs, so I guess that it is time that I contribute to the cause. I can't promise that you will read any deep thoughts here . . . but we will try to entertain with a few updates on the craziness we call life.

Summer is in full swing now. We spent last week at the lake with the Carrs and had a fabulous time! We spent the week on a boat or a floaty - what a life! Then my parents, Starla and her family, and the Gearys came up for the weekend. The kids all took turns on the giant tube and had a blast until the last day when Brad's boat's engine quit working. (I'm still waiting to hear how much that little glitch is going to cost us.)

Starla and I decided to take the kids to the zoo yesterday. Actually, Starla convinced me to go . . . spending the day in the hot sun walking around stinky animals is not my first choice of how to spend the day. But we had a great time! The kids were great - no meltdowns or arguing . . . who knew we could get along so well?
